# Could not connect to driver

Because of how advanced Byfron has become, Horizon has been forced to enter the Kernel to maintain stability. This, of course, poses more issues than normal with the most popular issue being "Unable to connect to driver".

First, disable any third party anti viruses and anti cheats. **If you have Valorant or FaceIt installed, uninstall Valorant and FaceIt** (These are the correct terms - for Vanguard you must uninstall the entire game, and for FaceIt you just need to uninstall the Anti Cheat itself)

If that still didn't work, follow these steps:\
\
First, install [Sordum's Defender Control](https://www.sordum.org/downloads/?st-defender-control) and follow the instructions on the website - we are unable to help with this.\
\
Next, click the button labeled "Disable Windows Defender" to completley disable windows defender.\
\
Next, restart your computer, Re-Download Horizon, and try again.
